Yesterday’s votes on moving Tulsi Gabbard and RFK to the floor both went as expected — thanks are being given to Tom Cotton and J.D. Vance among others for their last minute push. Both Senators Cassidy and Young extracted commitments from the nominees on some key issues, with Young telling the WSJ, “I would be pretty crappy at this if I didn’t use the leverage I had.” More on that later. For now, the conversation shifts to the battle over Russ Vought, headed for a return to OMB — Democrats plan to use the full 30 hours to criticize the administration, even knowing Vought is headed for confirmation.
